Does Medicare pay for COVID tests or COVID vaccines in 2025?

Medicare plans

As seniors are more likely to experience severe COVID-19 symptoms, Medicare includes coverage for various COVID-19 tests, products, and healthcare services.

You pay nothing for the COVID-19 vaccine, as long as it is FDA-approved and FDA-authorized, and your doctor or other
qualified health care provider will give you the shot. People with a Medicare Advantage plan should obtain the above-mentioned services from an in-network provider.

Your health care provider will bill Medicare directly, so make sure to bring your Medicare card or the card from your plan.

If you suspect you might have COVID and want to get tested, you pay nothing for the test as long as a health care provider orders this test and
you get it from a laboratory, pharmacy, doctor, or hospital that takes Medicare. People with a Medicare Advantage plan should check any coverage with their plan provider.

If you test positive for COVID-19 with mild to moderate symptoms, your doctor might give you monoclonal antibodies to help you recover at home instead of going to the hospital.
